Project Overview
Room 1856 is a new vision of how technology can reinvent the spatial and temporal experience of retail, with a focus on apparel. It reconceives the previously barren space of the fitting room as a technologically-amplified place of respite, familiarity, and freedom, specifically tailored to your needs. It reimagines the previously stark experience of using a fitting room as a holistic, coherent, and immersive event, one that is motivated and framed by a fictional, mission-driven narrative centered around you and your new wardrobe.
You enter the privacy of the fitting room-cum-safe house as a special operative with a top-secret mission to find the perfect next addition to your wardrobe. Everything in this room is organized around this theme—from the décor and ambiance to the technology and gadgetry.
